Act Now: Biden’s Parole-in-Place Program is Live

Dear Clients and Colleagues,

Today, USCIS has officially launched the Parole-in-Place program, an initiative introduced by the Biden Administration. Beginning Monday, August 19, 2024, individuals will be able to submit their application for this relief. Upon approval, the spouse and minor children of USC, will be able to secure a work permit and submit their application in the US without having to leave the US.

Upon approval, this application will permit individuals to obtain their residency in the US without having to depart from the US.

Key Details of the Program:

Eligibility Criteria requires that the applicant:
Has continuously resided in the United States for a minimum of 10 years as of June 17, 2024.
Is legally married to a U.S. citizen or have a valid stepchild relationship to a U.S. citizen by June 17, 2024.
Entered the U.S. without being admitted or paroled.
Has no disqualifying criminal history and does not pose a threat to national security or public safety.
Filing Fee: Currently set at $580.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your U.S. citizen spouse or step-parent passed away before you submit your parole application, you may still qualify for PIP! If this applies to you, please contact us to learn more.

Why is this Significant?

This program is extremely important for those who are unable to adjust their status due to their manner of entry into the U.S. This includes individuals with removal orders or who are currently in removal proceedings. It allows eligible individuals to apply for lawful permanent resident status inside the U.S. without taking the risk of leaving the country and being barred from re-entry.
