Saif Ali is an Associate Attorney in Monty & Ramirez LLP’s immigration division focusing on Business Immigration. His experience includes a variety of employment and family-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, permanent residency, and citizenship.
Saif is a first-generation immigrant himself. He and his family relocated from Pakistan to Ottawa, Canada. After obtaining Canadian citizenship, he and his family moved from Canada to Katy, Texas. Saif watched his parents go through the employment-based immigration system and aspired to work in a field where he could make a difference for other people who were navigating the often-frightening immigration process. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a degree in History and is a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2016 with a degree in History. Saif knew that he wanted to attend law school and become an attorney and enrolled as a student at the University of Houston’s Law Center as a recipient of the Dean’s Full Tuition Scholarship. While in law school, Saif worked with the Law Center’s Immigration Clinic, where he assisted clients with a wide range of matters, from asylum claims and VAWA cases to Hague Convention international child abduction cases, giving him experience in matters outside employment-based and family immigration.
Saif graduated from the Law Center and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2019. He clerked at Banerjee & Associates, a business immigration firm in Houston, during law school. He joined Monty & Ramirez LLP as an Associate Attorney in 2021. In his spare time, Saif enjoys reading about history, watching the Aggies play football and the Rockets play basketball, and traveling.
